SAP BusinessObjects training

BI Knowledge Sharing offers SAP BusinessObjects Reporting, which can be either full client (Desktop Intelligence) or web driven (Web Intelligence, Web Intelligence Rich Client). Depending on the user's profile, a typical session requires either 1 or 3 days. For those who are familiar with BI tools, we also offer a fast track course in SAP BusinessObjects Reporting.

SAP BusinessObjects for Report Creators

The Report Creators session lasts for 2 to 3 days and is targeted towards users who will create new documents. In a web environment, the attendees will work with Web Intelligence or Web Intelligence Rich Client.

After attending this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Work with existing documents: open documents, refresh the data in reports, refresh documents with prompts, save documents in personal folders or in public folders, create Excel and / or PDF output from existing documents and schedule documents.
  • Work in the reporting environment and understand: the result pane with different reports in one document, different report blocks in a report and the report manager tabs (map, properties, data, templates, input controls).
  • Modify or extend existing reports: create tables, crosstabs, forms, financial tables and graphical data presentations, work with free standing cells.
  • Manipulate data in reports: add filters, sorts, simple calculations, ranking, alerters, breaking report blocks, create master-detail presentations, add new columns to a table and define formulas.
  • Build basic queries: selecting objects, defending conditions.
  • Build complex queries: sub-queries and combined queries.
  • Combine data from multiple data providers: linking dimensions.
  • Analyze data in drill mode.
  • Work with data tracking.

SAP BusinessObjects for Report Consumers

The Report Consumers session focuses on the usage of InfoView and is targeted towards users who will work with existing reports. These users do not build new queries and do not change existing queries.

After attending this 1-day session, attendees will be able to:

  • Work with existing reports (open, refresh, save, share with other users, schedule, save as Excel and / or PDF).
  • Add reporting blocks to a document and change the presentation of their information.
  • Add filters, add simple calculations, build breaks and add sections.
  • Work with input controls to build more dynamic documents and increase the autonomy of the users.

Advanced Reporting

The Advanced Reporting session is targeted towards users who already have some experience in using SAP BusinessObjects. The session focuses on using complex calculations, functions and calculations in contexts.

SAP BusinessObjects - Universe Design

The Universe Design course usually lasts between 3 to 4 days and teaches its about the business representation of an organisation's data and how to build a universe from scratch. For this course, attendees should have a basic knowledge of using the reporting tools.

After attending this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Set Universe parameters.
  • Define the universe structure (add tables, generate derived tables, define joins and set cardinalities)
  • Resolve loops.
  • Create classes and objects.
  • Define Lists of values and hierarchies.
  • Improve performance with Aggregate Awareness and exploitation of database functions.
  • Publish and maintain universes.
